Info for the Major
To become a major in African & African American Studies you need to have an overall minimum GPA of 2.0 and to complete AAS 100 Introduction to African American Studies with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
If you meet the acceptance criteria, all you have to do is make an appointment with the undergraduate advisor, Ms. Jessie Carter (aasjmc@buffalo.edu), and fill out the Major Declaration Form. To receive a B.A. in African & African American Studies (36 credits) you need to complete the following program:

Required Electives
Four AAS courses (12 credit hours), to include no more than 3 credit hours of Independent Study. No more than 9 out of 12 credits can be at the 100 and 200 level.
